We would like to extend our gratitude to all the donors and the team who made this possible.

Yet another milestone achieved in moving a step ahead in improving healthcare services for everyone. With this mission the Ophthalmology ward at JPMC has recently been extended and a new OPD has been inaugurated to facilitate all those in need of eye care, and we are proud to be a part of it. The Chairman of the Patients’ Aid Foundation, Mr. Zahid Bashir, has been awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s highest civilian honours for public service in Pakistan. He was given the award by President Mamnoon Hussain at an event held at the Presidency Palace on Friday the 23rd of March.

Mr Bashir has been at the helm of the organization since its foundation in 1990. During his time in this role, he has raised a very substantial amount for public healthcare. The organization’s Vice-Chairman, Mr Mushtaq Chhapra, received the same award last year.

Patients’ Aid Foundation is one of Pakistan’s leading healthcare organizations supporting 1.2 million patients a year, who receive treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre Karachi free-of-cost. It raises private philanthropic donations for the public health sector, while being responsible for the running and maintenance of facilities such as the Blood Bank, the Neurotrauma, Radiology, Oncology, Ophthalmology and several others. For good health, food hygiene plays a vital role. Patients’ Aid Foundation has achieved yet another milestone and added a feather in their cap by collaboratively launching the Jinnah Food Complex with Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre. The groundbreaking ceremony took place recently at the site of this project. It was well attended by the Donors, their Families, the Members of the Board of Patients’ Aid Foundation, Dr. Seemin Jamali (Executive Director, JPGMC), Members of Patients’ Aid Foundations’ Fundraising Committee, and Members of Nespak. Patients’ Aid Foundation is striving to achieve higher grounds by launching a series of projects at JPGMC to develop it into the most advanced state-of-the-art healthcare facility in Pakistan. We would like to thank everyone who has come forward to show support and help us turn tears into cheers.

Over the past few years, many departments at JPMC have been encouraged to improve on many scales. With this motive many facilities have been upgraded on several levels. In a similar bid, the Main Laboratory at JPMC has acquired the ISO certification, and we are proud to be apart of it. Patients’ Aid Foundation (PAF) has been providing full hands-on support to the department so that higher standard tests can be done at the laboratory. A dua ceremony was recently held for the same reason with the Chairman and Vice Chairman of Patients’ Aid Foundation attending the ceremony. Also, Dr. Seemin Jamali honored the ceremony with her presence. This is proof that PAF is reaching new heights everyday into providing state of the art healthcare services for everyone at JPMC Karachi.

Patients’ Aid Foundation (PAF) is striving harder with each coming year to extend its efforts further to help the poorest of the poor. The year 2018 begins with such a leap only, where the OPD block of the New OPD & Surgical Complex was inaugurated today with a DUA ceremony which was held at the facility. The guests who honored us with their presence included the donors, their families, and guests from the industry. It was a memorable event as everyone came forward to show their heartwarming support for a cause which motivates PAF each day to do better for those in need. It is with the same strength that we continue to move forward and aim to achieve bigger milestones in the future.

With the continuous efforts and subsequent achievements, today we are proud to be highlighted by a well established and known channel namely PBS News Hour, spreading the word about the work of PAF.

We are thankful to the special correspondent and his team for having come so far to experience and cover how JPMC is being converted into a state-of-the-art facility with modern facilities to deal with all the healthcare needs
