Patients’ Aid Foundation (PAF) is a non-profit organization, which was formed by a group of concerned citizens who joined forces in 1990. The sole purpose of its formation was to alleviate the burden that Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) was bearing for providing free treatment to thousands of patients that walk through its gates every day. The increasing volume of patients, and the lack of resources and facilities, had put a strain on the hospital over the years.
PAF’s motto is to turn tears into cheers, and has been working alongside JPMC through the model of private-public partnership to serve patients from all over Pakistan and even abroad. It is engaged in many patient welfare activities and has funded massive infrastructure and equipment projects such as the Cyberknife machine, the Blood Bank and the Accident and Emergency facility to name a few. Through sheer hard work and vision for a healthier more prosperous nation, PAF has managed to change the face of JPMC with the help of many generous donors.
The foundation is registered with the Directorate of Social Welfare Government of Sindh under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, and with the Ministry of Finance and Taxation.
We currently have our footprints across 14 departments of JPMC, and we are in a continuous state of evolution. Our motto drives us to strive harder in serving the poorest of the poor, for which we are in a constant state of movement to achieve better and attain higher heights towards our goals.
Our facilitation includes any kind of help that we can extend towards the underprivileged. We have revamped & updated the current facilities within JPMC, while setting up a Pharmacy for free medicines. We are building new state-of-the-art facilities at JPMC to cater better to the increasing number of patients coming to the hospital every day and also providing assistance in terms of Human Resource. At the same time, we are improving the systems pre-existent and creating new systems within the hospital to create a smoother and faster flow of patients catered to and cured every day.
All of this and much more is being done with the help of Zakat, donations and in-kind donations.
