Intern Pharmacy

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dispense medication as per approved medication slip of each patient after confirming the physician’s prescription
  • Keep a daily stock record of the medication in the pharmacy
  • Assure availability of minimum stock at the beginning of every month
  • Determine reorder levels of each item of stock considering the maximum supply lead time
  • Determine the most economical source of medications – manufacturer, importer, stockiest etc
  • Arrange to place purchase order of medication according to reorder level of stock and supply lead time
  • Receive the supply directly with the help of any other officer designated by GM and ensure the supply is according to ordered quantity and quality
  • Reconcile daily dispensation report of medication
  • Keep periodic track of bulk supply of medication to concerned wards
  • Ensure that no medication in stock has an expiry date of less than 12 months
  • Ensure all medication is stocked in the appropriate environment, free of dust, dirt and contamination
  • Allow surprise audits by internal auditors and external auditors

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy preferably from an accredited institution
  • Fresh graduate, entry level position
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using computers (MS Office and Internet)
  • Strong organizing skills
