JOB PURPOSE

CFO is responsible for strategy formulation at an organizational level and monitor the complete range of finance functions of PAF. CFO shall also provide guidance to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on all financial matters including, strategic financial planning, Accounting, Finance, Taxation, and Management Information Systems.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide directions for administration of the finance function and ensure flow of financial information to management for planning and effective control of operations
  • Assist the Chief Executive Officer in formulation and ensure implementation, of financial policies and procedures
  • Negotiate financing arrangements with financial institutions for sustaining the Organization’s operations
  • Oversee the financial operations, develop strategies for the provision of funds needed for PAF operations, and investment of idle funds so as to generate maximum return.
  • Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas
  • Oversee the tax affairs of the Company and the formulation and follow-up of appeals and other tax proceedings
  • Direct the preparation of half-yearly and annual accounts, and offer comments for consideration by the Executive Committee
  • Direct the compilation of the Annual Report to stakeholders
  • Interface with external auditors in the conduct of the annual audit of accounts, ensure adequate clarifications are provided in response to their queries; follow-up on the audit report and recommend the institution of controls in areas where weaknesses are identified by the auditors
  • Examine all capital expenditure proposals and assess their feasibility from a financial and rate of return point of view

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified CA and CPA
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in senior management positions
  • Proficiency in using computer (MS Office, Internet etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, counseling and team building skills
